We believe we have by far the best sports prescription sunglasses available because we have tested our two designs (Primary and Sol Invictus) from the park run to the marathon des sables in the Sahara, Ultra Triathlons by Louise Minchin and by Cyclists all over the world. Our fastest pair have even managed to do a sub 2hrs 15 min marathon by Mick Clohisey of Ireland.

In addition by working directly with the lens manufacturers, we have managed to almost half the price.

What makes these unique is the curved lenses so there is no need for a clip-in behind a lens, which not only makes them lighter so do not slip, bounce or steam up and are far more attractive than anything else available.

We are able to work with prescriptions in excess of -4 and +4 a first in the UK (NB if your prescription is above these limits please contact us first before you purchase) via prescription@ndrsports.com or call 0161 818 2060 or chat below.

Otherwise, upload your prescription here and if your prescription doesn't have a PD (Pupil Distance) then a selfie with a ruler on your forehead will be fine.

Once ordered we will confirm your requirements via email to ensure the perfect combination for your sport such as:

Frame Colour and Frame Style either the Sol Invictus or the primary style NB the Primary tends to suit the slimmer face

Mirror Finish Gold, Silver, Red, Blue, Purple, Pink and Green

Tints

Standard Grey or Brown

Polarized Grey or Brown

Photochromic by Transitions

XTRActive Grey Brown

NB with tints it is best to go for grey as this is the most natural view, Brown is more suitable for contrast ie sports that involve objects such as golf

So far we have managed to stretch to -8 for a client in the USA

The main advantages over clip-ins are:

  • Lighter
  • Attractive
  • Easy to clean
  • Eyelashes do not touch the lens
  • Unrestricted vision (no annoying rim when looking to the side)
  • Scratch-resistant hard coat as standard

If required we can spread the cost over 4 months also please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions.

Transitions/Photochromic (Change with the amount of sunshine)

We are getting a lot of interest in these and many questions as there is more than one option with Photochromic lens, so it is almost a section on its own.

Firstly we use two of the best brands in the industry Transitions and Nupolar. There are two options with Transitions either their Signature which starts almost clear (7%-70%)  or the latest XTRActive (15%-80%) The big advantage with XTRActive is they work in the car. The second is NuPolar infinite which are able to offer Photochromic lenses with the Polarizing effect and are for people who need Polarized, typically Anglers for the glare off the water. NB These start at a 60% shade a medium-strength sunglasses to 90% for extreme light. The videos below should help.

So going forward we recommend the XTRActive for outdoor sports and the signature would be for more standard glasses when at home or in the office they are clear and then dark..
